I really like gardening and as you can tell by some of my plants....I am an amateur! No matter...I still enjoy it! The tomatoes (from last year) turned out delicious and the kids loved them so I have planted more this year! I have found  tomatoes to be so very easy to grow as long as you can keep the bugs from getting them first! I have not had a problem with the bugs eating the tomato but the leaves instead. I do not spray my tomatoes with any chemicals whatsoever so I am still trying to figure a way to keep them off the leaves naturally. Any ideas?
I have added flowers and shrubs to my little garden to make it colorful and somewhat feminine!
I am having a little bit of a problem with my roses though.....they just seem to not want to bloom and if one or two do sprout out....they don't look too healthy....a little brownish black around the edges and they wilt real quick.

I use pots to grow my plants because my soil in the yard is like a dirty sandy dune....I don't know, part dirt and part sand? Nothing will grow in it except for weeds. Speaking of weeds....I keep some of those in my yard too for all the visiting birds I get everyday! I have a bird feeder in my garden and they love the security they get from the weedy blossoms! I am sure they feel safe being camouflaged amongst it all!

I have started growing grapefruit, blackberries, watermelon and corn. The grapefruit turned out wonderful last year and hopefully this year as well! The blackberries are finally starting to come out but they are still green at this time(cannot wait for them to ripen!) and well...the watermelon and corn are still trying. It's still early in the season so we'll see what happens this summer!
I am still taking pictures of all the beauty in my yard and will be uploading more pictures and even some video. I am happy with the rewards I am receiving through all my hard work and dedication! (This place was baron when I first moved into it!) I am determined to change that though!

If anyone has any suggestions for my garden I would love to hear from you! I am just a beginner and love advice! I really want to have a HUGE garden one day but I want to know all about taking care of one first!

 Happy gardening everyone!
